The Event Formerly Known As Rolex

Just a quick post to say hi, and that I will be heading down to Lexington this Friday. My husband and I splurged and split a tailgate & Airbnb with another couple, and my parents are also driving up from Texas to join all of us. Our tailgate spot is A14, so anybody reading please stop by and say hello! We’ll have tons of snacks and adult beverages! And if anybody else has a spot, please comment and let me know and I’ll try to come say hello. It would be great to meet other bloggers!

I’ve been planning my honeymoon to the UK (taking place over our first anniversary) and it is coming up in less than a month, so I don’t have a ton of extra cash to spend on shopping this year, but that’s ok. My plan is to grab a second pair of Hadley breeches on sale, because once I reached my late thirties my body decided to be a different shape. Pipers don’t fit quite like they used to. Going to work on selling some of those and stocking up on more styles that feel better to me! And maybe pick up an extra sun shirt from somewhere. And an extra french link snaffle for my dressage bridle, because I somehow bought a 4.75in (anyone need one??). And and.. ugh, stop it.

I had a great hack on Juice a couple days ago – I was bummed about not being prepared enough to sign up for the Jimmy Wofford clinic my barn hosted, but doing a solo ride through the creek and some cantering around the trails helped me feel better. Then tonight I had an awesome flat school that made me want to somehow squeeze in another ride before heading out of town. I felt winded way sooner than I would like, but based on how often I’ve been riding, that’s to be expected. Said honeymoon may delay any showing we do this year but I’m finally feeling zen about whatever we wind up doing.

Hoping for riding inspiration, fun times with friends and family, and good weather this weekend. They don’t call it the Best Weekend All Year for nothing!
